Fishing and the reeling game
What happens between casting your line and landing a fish.
The cast
Face the water, hold to fill the power meter and let go. A longer cast lands in deeper water, and deeper water is luckier.
On a phone, a quick tap casts at half power. Hold the round action button in the corner to charge a long cast.
The bite
When a fish bites, a ! pops up over your bobber. You have about a second to
tap, click or press Space. If you miss it, nothing's lost. The bobber stays in
the water and another fish will come along.
Bait makes fish bite sooner. Rain and storms do too.
The fight
A track appears with a green bar and your fish moving up and down it. Hold to raise the bar and let go to drop it. The catch meter fills while the fish is inside the bar. If it stays out too long, it gets away.
- Fish don't all move the same way. Some sink and some float. Others dart off without warning.
- Bigger fish fight harder.
- Keep the fish in the bar the whole time and you get a Perfect!
Treasure
With a better rod, a treasure chest sometimes shows up during the fight. Keep it in your bar
as well and you get that too.
Your bobber stays put while you chat, so you can talk while you wait for a bite.
