Getting started
There's nothing to download and you don't need an account. Open fishtheweb.com and you're on the island with whoever else is playing.
Make your fisher
Pick a name, a hairstyle, colors and a shirt. You can change your look later in the wardrobe.
Getting around
- On a computer, walk with WASD or the arrow keys.
- On a phone or tablet, hold or drag anywhere and a joystick appears under your thumb. If you'd rather tap where you want to go, turn on tap-to-walk in Settings.
When you're new, an arrow points you to the water.
Your first fish
- Face the water and hold Space (or the mouse button) to fill the power meter. Let go to cast. On a phone, tap.
- When a ! pops up over your bobber, tap or press Space fast to hook the fish.
- Hold to raise the green bar and let go to drop it. Keep the fish inside the bar until the meter fills.

Sell and upgrade
Your backpack has three spaces to start. When it's full, sell your fish at the market stall
on the beach by the pier and save up for a better rod.

- E: use whatever you're standing next to, like the stall or the notice board
- I: your backpack · F: the Fishdex
- Enter or T: chat · Esc: settings
