Selling and upgrades

Selling fish is the only way to get coins.

The market stall

The stall is on the beach next to the pier. You can sell fish one at a time or all at once. The price depends on the kind of fish and its size, and bigger ones sell for more. Golden fish turn up now and then and sell for far more.

Your backpack

You start with three spaces. Once the bag is full you can't cast until you sell. The stall sells bigger bags, so you make fewer trips.

Gear

Each upgrade costs coins and needs a certain level. The rod matters most, because it decides which fish will bite at all. The starter rod only catches everyday fish. Each better rod reaches rarer ones.

• Reels bring fish in faster. Lines make them slower to slip away.
• Gloves let you cast further, out to deeper water where you're luckier.
• Charms make the stall pay more.
• There are also boots, lures, fish finders and a few others.

Bait

Worms from the stall make fish bite sooner. Fancier bait gets you luckier bites. You use one piece each time you hook a fish.

Levels

You get XP for every fish, including the ones that get away. Levels go from 1 to 30, and each new level adds gear to the stall.
